U-PVC for Thermal Break

Thanks to a new generation of U-PVC strips, Maine Plastiques has been meeting the Requirements and Technical Notice of the CSTB building authority for more than 10 years. Concepter, window systems creators, conservatories, frontage, industrial windows processing, aluminium extruders show interest in this process and confirm the great use of the U-PVC thermal break strips.
Maine Plastiques meet the new regulation requirements of the Norm NF EN 14024, applicable in France since 2005 which defines the requirements of the Thermal Break for windows, doors and screen-walls.


Maine Plastiques production capacity allows to produce a wide variety of profiles, weighing from some grams to 5kg/m up to 700 mm wide x 200 mm high.

U-PVC strips offer many advantages such as :

  • Strips shapes made-to-measure or standard on stock.

  • Easy setting after two-colour profiles lacquering; better stock management and delivery times for producing thermal break profiles.

  • Design of complicated geometries with a colour choice.

  • Grouped functions processing, in particular the co-extrusion of different materials.

  • A material which respects the environment within a recycling organization.
